Fire Safety Courses

This fire extingisher training and fire warden training helps workplaces be emergency compliant to the guidelines set out in the Australian Standard AS3745-2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities. Fire extinguisher training should be held for those employees chosen in the workplace to be responsible for addressing any fire emergencies using the equipment available. All courses are conducted by NSW Fire Fighters.

Fire Extinguisher - Confine Small Emergencies in a Facility (2.5 hours)

This 2.5 hour fire extinguisher course is designed to meet the minimum requirements for the use of fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reels to confine small workplace fire emergencies and allow your workforce to have the skills required to address smaill fire emergencies. 

 

National unit of competency offered in this fire extinuisher course is:

  • PUAFER008 - Confine small emergencies in a facility (Fire Extinguisher)

Optional

  • PUAFER005 - Operate as part of an emergency control organisation (Fire Warden)

 

 

Fire Warden - Operate as part of an emergency control organisation (2 hours)

This course complies to the training requirements as listed in Australian Standard 3745-2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities. Fire Warden training program will equip your personnel with the skills required to safely evacuate your workplace.

National unit of competency offered in this fire warden course are:

  • PUAFER005 - Operate as part of an emergency control organisation (Fire Warden)

Spill Response / Spill Kit (2 Hours)

This course is to respond to small emergencies in a facility include incidents such as small fires that can be controlled using a fire extinguisher; chemical spills that can be controlled using facility personal protective clothing and equipment and a spill kit; or a vehicle accident where there is no significant injury or damage.

 

National units of competency offered in this fire warden course are:

  • MSMWHS205 Control minor incidents (Spill Kit)

 

Onsite Fire Fighting and Emergency Planning (7.5 hours)

This course is designed to allow participants to understand the fire hazards on commercial and residential construction sites by using Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to identify potential fire hazards and emergency control methods and understand how to develop and instigate a emergency response plan. The training also includes  practical use of fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reels to confine small workplace fire emergencies.
