This pre-requisite course delivers mandatory statutory safety training for new entrants to the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI), including workers pursuing ASP Level 1 or Level 2 authorisation with Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, or Essential Energy. It equips participants with critical knowledge and skills to work safely on or near electrical apparatus.
Delivered by CTC Workplace Training (RTO 7053), using experienced trainers and assessors approved by Ausgrid, Endeavour, and Essential Energy. Training complies fully with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 and network-specific requirements.
Successful completion awards a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for selected units, including:
Face-to-face training with practical exercises conducted in simulated workplace scenarios relevant to working near live electrical apparatus.
Assessment may include written questionnaires, practical demonstrations, oral questioning, participation in group activities, and teamwork-based exercises.
Half a day to 2 days depending on units required. Courses commence at 7:15am and typically finish by 3:30pm.
Lunch is provided for full-day courses at CTC Training Centres (special dietary requirements: please bring your own).

Participants must wear hi-vis work clothing and steel-capped boots. Hard hat, gloves, safety glasses and any other required PPE can be borrowed from CTC Workplace Training.
Maximum of 20 participants per session for optimal hands-on learning.

Successful participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment under Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) for the accredited units completed. The Essential Energy Electrical Safety Rules component is non-accredited (distributor-specific training) but is included where required and directly supports ASP authorisation pathways (subject to employer sponsorship and distributor approval).
