CTC Safety delivers nationally recognised chainsaw training and pole saw training in NSW for council vegetation teams, utilities field crews, contractors and maintenance personnel. Training is practical and workplace-focused, covering safe operation, routine maintenance, hands-on cutting techniques (including cross-cutting and boring), and safe trimming and branch control aligned to WHS and site requirements.
We offer Initial training for new operators, Refresher training for experienced operators, and VOC assessment options for workplaces requiring documented evidence of competency. Public and group bookings are available at our training centres Sydney (Emu Plains), Central Coast (Tuggerah) and Newcastle (Beresfield), with onsite group bookings NSW-wide (discounts apply).
Maximum 1 day (depending on the unit(s) selected).
Free VOC (National Units Only): A FREE Verification of Competency (VOC) is included only when you select and complete a nationally recognised unit as part of your booking.
If you book VOC assessment only (no national unit), standard assessment fees apply.
For Refresher selections and VOC assessment, learners must have previously completed the relevant unit(s) and must provide evidence of prior completion (e.g. Statement of Attainment or verified equivalent evidence) when requested.
Required clothing (must): Long sleeve shirt, long pants and steel-capped boots.
PPE provided: All other PPE is provided. Learners may bring their own PPE, including chainsaw chaps, helmets and other PPE if preferred.
Chainsaws: CTC chainsaws are available. Learners are encouraged to bring their own chainsaw if preferred, provided it is safe to use. All learner-supplied chainsaws will be inspected by our trainers before use.
Unit selection depends on the option chosen during booking and workplace/site requirements.
